Will it hurt?
Treatment is done under local anesthesia chosen to match your condition and sensitivity. Before starting, the dentist checks that the anesthesia has fully taken effect, and stops at any moment at your hand signal.
How long does the first visit take?
Plan for about an hour: examination, an X-ray if needed, and a discussion of the plan and estimate. If you come in with acute pain, we relieve the pain first and discuss the rest calmly afterward.
Can I find out the cost in advance?
Yes. After the examination, you receive an estimate listing the procedures and prices for each item. If something unforeseen comes up during treatment, the dentist calls to agree on it first, then continues.
From what age do you see children?
From the first teeth. The first visit is usually just an introduction: the child gets familiar with the office and the chair, the dentist examines the teeth and explains to the parents how to care for them at home.
How often is professional hygiene needed?
The standard recommendation is once every six months. If you wear braces, smoke, or are prone to tartar buildup, the dentist may suggest a shorter interval and will mention it at the check-up.
Can I get treatment during pregnancy?
Yes, and you should: prevention and cavity treatment are safe, you just need to tell the dentist how far along you are. Planned procedures are usually scheduled for the second trimester, and X-rays are taken only when directly indicated and with shielding.
