To make your polish last longer
A few habits that make it last a week or two longer.
No water for the first two hours
Gel cures completely right after the lamp, but the base prefers dryness. It's best to put off dishes and showering.
Household chemicals — gloves only
Floor and dish cleaning products dry out the polish at the edges, which is where chips start.
Cuticle oil every evening
A drop on each finger and a light massage. It's the cheapest thing that makes the biggest difference to how your hands look.
Nails are not a tool
Don't open jars, peel off stickers, or remove polish with your teeth: that's how the top layer of the nail plate chips off.
Timely correction
The optimal interval is three to four weeks. Overdue polish leads to lifting and nail damage.
