How to take your own measurements
Four numbers are enough for a remote estimate. We'll still take exact measurements in the studio — these are needed for a preliminary quote.
Undress down to your underwear
Measuring over a sweater or jeans adds 3–5 cm — and the garment won't fit right afterward.
Bust — at the widest point
Tape horizontal, across the shoulder blades at the back, across the fullest points at the front. Don't suck in your stomach.
Waist — at the narrowest point
Bend to the side: the fold will show your natural waistline. Leave one finger's width under the tape.
Hips — 20 cm below the waist
Around the fullest point, tape parallel to the floor, feet together.
Length
For trousers — from the waist to the floor, in the shoes you'll wear them with. For a sleeve — from the shoulder to the wrist bone with the arm bent.
Details that throw off a measurement
- A soft tape, not a metal one. A metal one won't follow the body.
- Stand straight, arms down. It's better to have someone else take your measurements.
- Don't pull it tight. The tape sits close but doesn't press into the body.
- Shoes matter. Trouser length for heels and for sneakers are different numbers.
- Sign up right away. Bust / waist / hips / length — in centimeters, in that order.
Send these four numbers along with a photo of the item — we'll give you an approximate price before your visit.
