05 · The device and its limits

What it does well, and what it will never do

Promising the laser something it can't do is the fastest way to ruin a course and the relationship with a client. That's why we discuss the limits before the first session.

808 nm diode laser with contact cooling

The working wavelength is absorbed by the melanin in the hair and reaches the follicle, barely touching the skin's surface. The sapphire tip cools the area at the moment of the flash — so the setting is tolerable even on the bikini area, not something to just "endure."

Limits of the method

We cover this at the consultation, before you pay for the first session.

Grey and white hairThere's no melanin in it — the beam has nothing to grip. Electrolysis is needed here; no number of sessions will make the laser help.
Red and light-colored fuzzThe reaction is weak and unpredictable. We do a test on a small area and show you the result — the decision to continue is yours, made with full information.
Hormonal cause of growthIf hair grows due to hormonal disorders, the course will give less and it will come back faster. Here you need an endocrinologist alongside the procedures.
Dark and tanned skinType V–VI and a fresh tan — risk of burns and pigmentation. We don't treat this skin type with the 808 nm diode, and after a vacation we wait.
"Forever" doesn't existThe course removes most of the hair, but individual follicles wake up again over time. A maintenance session once or twice a year is needed — this isn't a flaw in the course, it's the norm for the method.
