Questions people usually don't dare to ask
We answer the same way we would during a consultation.
The sensation is described as hot snaps with cold right after. The most sensitive areas are deep bikini and upper lip, the calmest are legs and arms. If it hurts enough that you want to stop — say so right away, the settings get lowered, there's no need to endure it. Numbing cream is used by prior arrangement before the session.
Honestly: no, no device guarantees «forever». The course removes most of the hair, and after it the area stays smooth for years, but individual follicles wake up — usually due to hormonal changes. That's why after the course you need a maintenance session once or twice a year. Anyone who promises otherwise is selling you expectations.
Yes, if the skin has no fresh tan: 10–14 days before the session without sun or a tanning bed, and SPF 30–50 afterward. In practice this means the course is paused at the seaside, while areas under clothing (underarms, bikini) continue as usual. We reschedule the session if we see a tan — it's not us being picky, it's protection from burns.
No. Laser hair removal uses light of a specific wavelength, which is absorbed by melanin in the hair and turns into heat within the follicle. It's not ionizing radiation — it doesn't build up in the body or reach internal organs. Protective goggles are needed precisely because it's bright light, not radiation.
This isn't a reason to stop the course, but you'll need a pause: 2–3 weeks without plucking, so the roots settle back into place. After that — shaving only, for the whole course. If you pluck hair between sessions, the next session will mostly be wasted: there'll be nothing left to heat, but the session still counts.
Mild redness and small bumps around the follicles in the first hours are an expected reaction that fades on its own. Ingrown hairs, on the other hand, the laser usually reduces, since the hair weakens. If painful spots appear after a session and don't go away in over two days — write to us and send a photo, that's a reason to review the settings or aftercare.
10–20 days after the first session the treated hair sheds and the zone looks clearer — that's shedding, not the result yet. Real thinning shows after the second or third session, lasting smoothness closer to the end of the course. If there's no change at all after three sessions, that's a reason to review the settings and check hormone levels — and we'll bring that up ourselves.
There's no technical restriction except the bikini zone — that session gets rescheduled for hygiene and higher sensitivity. On these days the pain threshold is lower, so for sensitive zones it's better to pick another date. The rest of the zones we do as usual.
