The estimate is approximate and shows the ballpark amount, not an invoice. The cutting waste depends on how the tile will lay out in your specific room: we give the exact percentage after the measurement, once there's a scaled plan.
Tile rarely fits a room in whole pieces. Every row ends with a cut piece, and the leftover half almost never carries over to the opposite wall — the size there is different. Plus breakage during cutting, defective tiles from the box, and two spare tiles you'll keep in case something cracks a year from now. We don't hide this reserve in the price of the work — you see it separately and buy the tile yourself.
