No one will honestly name an exact timeline before the first meeting. But the order of magnitude looks like this — and at the assessment I will tell you which case you most likely fall into.
Several groups of sounds
5–9 monthsSibilants, hushing sounds, and "r" together. We work on each group in turn, then give it time to settle into speech.
Speech launch and development
from age oneWhen there are few words or no phrases yet. Here we move in small steps and review progress every two months.
What the timeline depends on
- What exactly is affected: a single sound is one story, a speech development delay is quite another.
- Age: at 4–5 years old, a child usually progresses faster than at 8, when incorrect pronunciation has already become a habit.
- Regularity: two sessions a week versus sessions with weekly gaps give different timelines from the same starting point.
- Practice at home is what speeds things up the most — or slows them down the most.
- The child's condition: attention, stamina, and any co-occurring traits we also work with, but more slowly.
